How it works
Pit Hammer targets the organic matter in the pit's permanent storage. Its bacteria break down solids and bring them into suspension, where more of the organisms can reach them, and reduce odor emissions such as ammonia and hydrogen sulfide.
How to use
- Shake well before using.
- Shallow pits, gestation/farrowing: 1/4 gallon per 250 sows, per pit, per week.
- Shallow pits, nursery or finishing: 1 gallon per 1,000 pigs, per pit, per week.
- Deep pits: 1 gallon of Pit Hammer treats 20,000 gallons of pit waste.
- For the initial application, double the dosage for the first 2 to 3 months.
Safety
Caution: do not use as a surface or confined-area spray. Avoid contact with open wounds, eyes and skin. Do not ingest. Do not use with alkaline or acid-based materials. Keep the container sealed when not in use; do not store above 110°F. Keep out of reach of children.
First aid: skin, flush well with soap and water; eyes, flood with water for 20 minutes and contact a physician if irritation develops; inhalation, move to fresh air.
