What it is
When a farm stops production or a lagoon is taken out of service, it must be closed under state and NRCS standards. ASI handles the full closure, from the closure plan to removing and land-applying the remaining liquid and sludge to final documentation.
Why you need it
- An open, unused lagoon is an ongoing permit obligation and environmental liability.
- A certified closure is often required before a farm can be sold, converted or refinanced.
- Closed properly, the site can return to productive use.
Our process

Site assessment.
We survey liquid and sludge volumes and review the permit and waste plan.
-
